Counting Life By Moments..

9 10 2008

People don’t last forever, sometimes neither relationships do. Yet, its just memories and moments that make us truly alive are those that last forever, or atleast till we do.

Why?

I guess we all know the answer at the subconscious level, yet it does take a conscious effort to acknowledge, understand and give our life and every living moment to the moment.

Can we design our destiny or rule our fate?

I doubt it very much. Yet, we do hold a control of the passing moments and have the power in our hand to transform them into magical memories for the life time. Just a small thought in this direction really showed me things in a new light and hence it became a resolution for this festival period.

I do not know the answer to your question but I do remember the anonymous quote “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”

Live each moment.. As easy it is to say.. Its much more difficult to do… With the burden of the past and the anxiety of the future, it’s so difficult in the present… This reminds me of the dialogue in the movie Kung Fu Panda, that the wise master Oogway gives to Po, the nervous dragon warrior.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery. But today is a gift. That is why it is called the present”

Thats a great venture into the deep mysteries of the Universe!!! The Law of Attraction says its our thoughts and their vibrations that cause thousands of ripples like waves in the ocean that reach far and wide across the universe gathering and attracting LIKE thoughts and vibrations for us, each living moment….and the greater accumulation of a kind of vibration we emit(positive or negative) thats the kind of future we pre-pave for ourselves!! We are the creators of our own destiny….only that we do not place a belief in our thought system.
Just like you said we KNOW subconsciously…all the answers YET we need a conscious effort to recognize/realise them.
Great post as always πŸ™‚

we have an emotion with every one we meet, it might be a friendly, it might be hate, a comic feel or a horrifying one.. in each interaction we have a feel. how ever small the interaction might be, some times we remember a person we met at some bus stand or on train is also remembered for a long time.

the intensity of feeling or some experience in that meeting makes us remember that interaction for a long time.

people meet by coinsidence, It is always in our hands, what sort of relation we are wishing for.

I believe in one thing, “Bring the sweetest one from ur past, pass it on to your future, That makes life beautiful.”

@ Rambler
Get rid of memories? Dont you think thats tough? I kind of opine that ‘memories never die’. Its just what we want to keep in the end that matters.

@ Nandu
That a beautiful saying.

@ Salz

Agreed. Easy to understand and tough to implement. Aren’t many of the life’s learnings like that?

@ Joyeeta
Thank you. πŸ™‚

Yeah it is our choice… only our choice… and as such.. we are just reflections… of what we had learned, read, heard, saw, felt, smelt and let all through our filter that combines, mutate, break, join, block… and let the reflection out… and that is we for others.. πŸ™‚

Just was wondering, why do we need to cherish each moment… in fact why should we try to hold each passing moment… If we want to be happy, we just need to choose…. to be happy πŸ™‚

One of my professors in engineering used to tell me: Learn to be a “Sthitaprajna” and you will be happy. I used to laugh at him accusing him of being an old man. Now I realize he’s a wise old man.

Learn to live with all of life’s twists and turns. If you have the right perspective, it might even be fun! Edgar Allan Poe said it the best:

“All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.”

-Vamsi

Curious: Would you describe life as full or twists and turns or ups and downs??

The past is gone, the future is yet to be seen.. today is what we have & thats why its called the “present”.
Caught up in this web of life.. we tend to overdo the pain a relationship can sometime cause.. n underrate all the joy n fun times it has given us..

I guess.. as we have probably another 50 yrs.. that means only 2500 weekends left.. let us enjoy each moment of it… cheers..

Certain things are to be just experianced. every experiance gives us some memory. Every memory teaches us something. Memories are not only part of our life, but in a strange way, they are our life itself.
